Toys Toys Toys

I can't get enough new toys to play with. Today Brian brought me a "Retriever stick" made of pork hide. I couldn't stop chewing it for 45 minutes straight! Yummy...

A very fast learner

Brian has been talking about how fast of a learner I am. So far I have learned how to sit on command, both by him using the verbal cue "sit", and by the hand signal of an open palm facing up and being raised. Laura is teaching me how to "stay." I think I'll know a lot more by the time I'm 3 months old.

It has been a hot November in Southern California. So hot, in fact, that I frequently leave the carpet to lay on the cold linoleum.

Also, I've been getting used to wearing my new collar and name tag. At first I was scratching like crazy at my nylon collar, but now I'm getting more and more used to it. I've stopped biting my leash too because there's a horrible taste of bitter apple on it.

Gregorian Chant sooth Teddy - VIDEO

My masters read somewhere that puppies like to listen to radio or classical music when their masters are away. But those high classical notes kind of disturbed me. Some of the classical music is anything but soothing. So my masters switched to Gregorian Chants in the CD player on loop and I can't stay awake for more than 5 minutes of being subjected to it!

The Best of 9 Weeks

I love chewing things, especially my good friend, duck.

Who's that cute dog in the mirror? lick, lick.

Wrestling like the best of 'em.

I have to get my paws wiped off after romping through the muddy fields.

I am submissive, not dominant-aggressive.
Hogtied!

Teddy Has Separation Anxiety

At 8 weeks of age, I am seriously dependent on my masters being available every second of the day:

I'm finally home!

I went home on 11-10-2006! It was my first time in this thing called a car. I was pretty comfortable being held in Laura's lap and then being set on the front seat floor. I was really calm even though the loud engine was vibrating and Brian was breaking and turning to avoid accidents on the 91 freeway.

Once we got home I visited my play and potty grass area in front of the apartment. I was being a little mischievous at first, trying to eat grass, leaves, and wood chips. They gave me a ball to play with in order to distract me.

I'm so happy to be home. They let me have the run of the apartment first day home. I tried to eat some shoes and sandals, but they wouldn't let me. My new puppy-proofed room is really comfy, especially with my stylin' wicker kennel.

Best of all, I had no accidents on their carpet first day home!

One more week, and I'm going home!

I can't believe that my masters are taking me home in only 6 days! I've grown to be almost twice as big as when I was 5 weeks old. My coat is still growing out straight, blond, and beautiful.

Today I had double the amount of energy as I had last week. Instead of passing out after one hour, I was playing around for almost 2 hours straight. At one point, when playing with Laura, I mouthed her arm for a second and then - "OWWWWWWW!" - she screamed so loud that I fell backwards on my butt and didn't know what to do with myself. I felt really bad that I had hurt her with my bite, so I sat on the ground, crying and whimpering out of sadness for what I had done. They put me in "time out" for a whole 30 seconds during which time they didn't look at or play with me. After that, I never mouthed her like that again. I'm a fast learner, and I have a good heart -- I don't want to hurt my masters.

Today I was given a new treat called a puppy cookie. They were little tasty biscuits, that are supposedly good for me. They fed me four little cookies over the course of two hours. At the end of the day, I had a serious case of the hershey squirts and after that I blew chunks everywhere. I tried to clean up the mess (you know, eat it back up), but my masters wouldn't let me.

I must say, I'm a very good looking dog. My hair is better than a poodle's, and better than a lab's. I'm the best of both worlds. Check me out.

Anyway, there's many more pictures of me, Teddy the Labradoodle, here.

Stay tuned for next week, when I join my new pack in an apartment dwelling!
